Two League One clubs have confirmed new managerial appointments this week. Brian Barry-Murphy is the new Cardiff City boss, whilst Tom Cleverley has been appointed head coach at Plymouth Argyle. Cleverley, 35, was sacked by Watford in May after 14 months at Vicarage Road – the longest spell of any manager there since Javi Gracia’s reign from January 2018 to September 2019. Barry-Murphy, 46, was in charge at Rochdale, between April 2019 and June 2021, in his only previous managerial role.
James Tilley’s move to Wycombe Wanderers was confirmed last Friday. The 27-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Buckinghamshire side, with an option for an additional year after that. Tilley scored 14 goals in 91 appearances in his two seasons with us.
