Josh Neufville has joined Bradford City. Neufville has signed a three-year contract with the Bantams having rejected the offer of a new deal to stay at Plough Lane. The 24-year-old, who joined Wimbledon in 2023 after being released by Luton Town, was voted the club’s Player of the Year last season, scoring five goals in 52 appearances.
The club has announced a pre-season friendly with Millwall. The Championship side will visit Plough Lane on Tuesday 22 July for a 7.30pm kick-off. Tickets, priced from £5 to £12, are on sale now via tickets.afcwimbledon.co.uk. The game was announced alongside two other pre-season games: away at Enfield Town on Wednesday 9 July (7.00pm), and against Watford at Wealdstone’s Grosvenor Vale stadium on Saturday 12 July (3.00pm). Ticket details for these games have yet to be confirmed, but tickets, priced £12, for our trip to Sutton United at Gander Green Lane on Saturday 19 July (3.00pm) can be purchased via Sutton’s ticketing site.
The draw for the First Round of the League Cup will be made on Thursday 26 June. The draw will be broadcast live on Sky Sports News from 4.30pm. Ties will be played the week commencing Monday 11 August. With an increase in the number of English clubs qualifying for European competitions, the League Cup has introduced a Preliminary Round to reduce the number of clubs in the first round. The two promoted sides, Barnet and Oldham Athletic, will play the lowest-placed League Two clubs from last season – Newport County and Accrington Stanley respectively. It is only the third time in history that the competition has featured a Preliminary Round: in 2011, we lost 3-2 at Crawley Town, and in 2002, Boston United beat Bristol Rovers 2-0.
Miles Hippolyte was in international action for Grenada this week. Our play-off final winning goalscorer played 80 minutes in his side’s 3-2 win over St. Kitts and Nevis in Basseterre. The win leaves Grenada in third place in Group B of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying tournament.
Mark Bowen has been appointed Director of Football at Forest Green Rovers. The former Wales international, 61, was interim manager at Plough Lane at the end of the 2021-22 season, but was unable to prevent our relegation from League One in his seven games in charge (D4, L3).
Happy Birthday James Tilley! James turns 27 today.
The latest Plough Lane by Numbers blog is available now. Tim Hanson dives into our attacking threat, and investigates why we were less potent in the second half of last season when compared to the first. Click here to read the article in full.

Thanks Richard! Plan is that this will continue into the season, with two updates a week, but no, in no way will it be replacing the podcast!
